While exploring Northern Vancouver Island looking for stunning landscapes and wildlife in general, I saw this big male Grizzly bear roaming around a nearby estuary eating roots and other weeds along the beach. Grizzly bears are not a native species to Vancouver Island. It has been said they come here from the mainland to seek out new territories after being pushed out by a bigger and older bear. This is one of three I saw this year.
